Modeling
Direct 3D CAD modeling: sketch closed profiles that instantly become planar faces, extrude solids, sculpt features, and inspect parametric properties.
Parametric Primitives
Select a primitive from the left dock (or press its hotkey) and click in the viewport to define its position and dimensions. Primitives remain fully parametric in the Properties inspector.
| Tool | Key | Default Dimensions |
|---|---|---|
| Box | B | Width 60, Depth 60, Height 20, Corner Radius 0 |
| Sphere | G | Radius 30, Segments 32 |
| Cylinder | Q | Radius 20, Height 40, Segments 32 |
| Cone | Z | Radius 20, Height 40, Segments 32 |
| Torus | Y | Radius 30, Tube 8, Segments 32 |
| Plane | P | Width 200, Depth 200 (Ground plane) |
2D Sketching & Face Creation
Sketch tools draw 2D profiles with live grid snapping. Connecting curve endpoints into a closed loop automatically produces a shaded planar face ready for extrusion.
| Tool | Key | Behavior |
|---|---|---|
| Line | L | Two-point line. Hold Shift for orthogonal lock. Chains from endpoints. |
| Polyline | J | Click to place vertices. Click the start vertex or press Enter to close. |
| Rectangle | R | Two-corner rectangle. Hold Shift for square. Auto-creates a planar face. |
| Circle | C | Center and radius. Auto-creates an extrudable planar face. |
| Arc | A | Three-point arc: start point, end point, and bulge point. |
| Polygon | N | Regular polygon centered at point. Hold Shift to unlock rotation. |
Solid & Face Tools
Transform 2D sketch faces into 3D bodies and modify solid geometry directly:
| Tool | Key | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Extrude / Extrude Face | E | Click any closed planar face or profile and drag upward or downward to produce a solid body. |
| Fillet / Fillet Edge | F | Round corners on 2D sketch polylines or smooth sharp edges on 3D solid bodies. |
| Offset | O | Offset curves by a specific distance inward or outward. |
| Revolve | W | Spin an open or closed profile around an axis by a specified angle. |
| Sweep | S | Sweep a profile along a 3D path curve. |
| Loft | K | Create a continuous solid transition through two or more closed profiles. |
| Trim | T | Delete the crossed segment between two intersecting curves. |
| Extend | X | Extend a curve endpoint until it meets the next boundary curve. |
| Mirror | I | Mirror selected geometry across a two-point reflection axis. |
Select & Transform
- Select (V): Click entities or drag a selection marquee to inspect geometry.
- Move (M): Transform selected objects with the 3D translation gizmo.
- Rotate & Scale: Interactive rotation rings and scaling handles.
- Commit or Deselect: Press Enter to commit current operations or Esc to clear selections.
- Selection HUD: Floating pill dock at the bottom of the viewport with fast access to Extrude, Fillet, Move, and Delete.
- Duplicate: Ctrl D; Select All: Ctrl A.
Layers & Project Outline
The right dock houses the Project tree and Layers manager. Create layers with custom colors, toggle global visibility, or lock layers to prevent accidental modifications. Individual entities can inherit or override layer styles.
Undo & Redo
All operations, including parametric property changes and Lua script actions, are recorded in a non-destructive undo stack. Press Ctrl Z to undo and Ctrl Shift Z (or Ctrl Y) to redo.
